 BODY POSTURE.

At some point in the elementary years in school, we were taught good body postures and how to achieve this. Good enough, many of us inculcated this but along the line, while growing up, most conformed to bad standing and sitting postures. Over the years, it became so normal and has thus become a trend in teens. We slouch while using our laptops or phones, we stand very awkwardly while having a conversation with somebody and this doesn't create worry, why? It should be corrected, don't you think?
Bad posture will make breathing hard for you, it will also make it hard for you to concentrate and think properly, it will make you look less attractive, cause some health complications mostly spine deformation, back pain, neck pain, chest pain and poor blood circulation.
In order to spare yourself from a life time of pain from poor body posture, it is important that you correct your posture. This may seem like hard work but it is quite simple. You don’t need to force yourself, just follow this simple steps
  • Imagine there is a string over your head pulling you upwards, try to stay aligned with this string
  • Keep your shoulders back, aligned and relaxed. Don’t stick your chest out, leave it perpendicular to the floor.
  • Keep your head straight and not tilted up or down and your chin should be parallel to the ground.
  • Use your stomach muscles to keep your body straighter.
  • Don’t stand in the same position for a long period of time.
  • Slightly bend your knees to ease pressure on the hips.
  • For girls, do not wear high heels when standing for a long period of time.

Practice this and before you know it you will be standing as flawless as royalty. Next week we will be posting on the proper position to sit while using the computer.
